Oman

Explore an untouched world of marine diversity, Oman is a new liveaboard destination in the Middle East, and gives an exciting blend of desert culture and underwater wonders.  The Musandam at the North-eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, is overlooking the Straits of Hormuz. It is bordered to the west by the warm green waters of the Arabian Gulf and to the East and South East by the vibrant and plentiful Gulf of Oman and the Indian Ocean.

The rugged 'fjord-like' coastline knows as the eastern Musandam Peninsula has of the widest biodiversities of marine species can be found anywhere in the world. The deep drop offs and cool and cool water upwelling, provide an abundance of plankton, making this a rich feeding ground for a huge variety of marine life and coral gardens.

Dolphins, Turtles, Reef sharks, Hammerheads, Whale sharks, Minke whales & Sunfish plus all the usual reef fish and corals of the Indian Ocean have been seen. The visibility does not extend as much as in the Red Sea, but the abundance of sea life and the numerous species to be seen will amaze you.

With desert safaris, mountain trekking, paragliding, and luxury hotels this is one very interesting destination. Flights to Dubai international airport and only 120 km transfer by road means it's also easy to get there.
